Kye Milne

Born in Sydney, Kye, aged 16, began playing the piano at age 4 and picked up the trombone at age 8. Through his primary school years, as well as playing in school bands, he extended his playing through the Northern Sydney Schools Wind Orchestra. While attending a State Music Camp in 2012, he was approached to perform a trombone solo at the Sydney Opera House, which he did as part of the Festival of Choral Music.

Kye was offered a full music scholarship at Sydney Grammar School, where he now performs in the Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band and choirs. Through these ensembles, he has had the opportunity to work with accomplished musicians including James Morrison, Paul Grabowsky and Dr. John Lynch. Since moving to Sydney Grammar School, he achieved his AMusA on trombone at age 14, and is now working towards his LMusA later this year. Last year, he competed in the Sydney Eisteddfod, winning the 19 and under brass solo section.
