Message from our Artistic Director Myee Clohessy

Our next festival will celebrate our joy of playing chamber music, considered by many as the pinnacle of music making. I have invited some of our country’s crème de la crème performers – violinist Francesca Hiew, cellist Richard Narroway, flautist Sally Walker, trumpeter David Elton, trombonist Scott Kinmont, and pianists Vatche Jambazian, Vivian Choi Milton and Laurence Matheson to combine their talents and present chamber music programs that have been created with much love.

We will also welcome to Bowral the Luminescence Chamber Singers from Canberra, Italian-based Australian organist David Reccia Chynoweth, and our local Highlands Music Collective with the vibrant young soloist Cedar-Rose Newman, back from her studies in America.

BAMF 2023 will present exciting premieres of new works by Australian composers Sally Greenaway, Andrew Ford and Elena Kats-Chernin, plus six other Australian compositions, and our important Musica Floreat Concert and Education Day Workshops will once again provide an opportunity for our young local musicians to showcase their talents.

I hope I can tempt you to join us at this most beautiful time of year in the Southern Highlands for another wonderful musical feast!
