Since making her orchestral debut at age 13 with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Andrea has performed with all the major symphony orchestras in Australia as well as the Auckland Philharmonia, Christchurch Symphony, Hong Kong Philharmonic, San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, Columbus and Wichita Symphony Orchestras in the USA.
She was a Silver Medalist in the 2009 San Antonio Piano Competition, Semifinalist in the 2009 Van Cliburn Competition, Winner of the ABC’s ‘Young Performer of the Year’ Award in the Keyboard section, the ABC Quest Competition 'Viewers’ Choice Award' and the Yale Woolsey Hall Competition.
Usually based in New York, pianist Andrea Lam has earned high acclaim as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician performing at major venues such as New York’s Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Center, Smithsonian American Art Museum (US), Sydney Opera House, UKARIA Cultural Centre (Adelaide), Llewellyn Hall Canberra, QPAC Brisbane and the Melbourne Recital Centre.
As a passionate chamber musician, Andrea has collaborated with artists including cellist Matt Haimovitz, the Takacs Quartet, the Australian String Quartet and Ani Kavafian. Her New York City-based piano trio The Claremont Trio has been described by Strad Magazine as “one of America’s finest young chamber groups”, with their recently released Beethoven disc receiving universal acclaim. Andrea has performed at New York City’s Chelsea Music Festival, the Sanguine Estate Music Festival, the Sydney Festival, the Dunkeld Festival (VIC), Newcastle Music Festival and is looking forward to her debut performance at the 2022 Bowral Autumn Music Festival.
